Toronto International Symposium on Critical Care re-Launches as the Critical Care Canada Forum 02.07

New name reflects increasing international attendance and global importance

Toronto, February 1, 2007: The Toronto International Symposium on Critical Care, known around the world as Canada’s premier critical care conference, announced today that it will be changing its name to the Critical Care Canada Forum.

“We realized that our original name no longer reflected our part in Canada’s international leadership in critical care medicine. Our new name, Critical Care Canada Forum reflects the tremendous growth that has occurred over the past 10 years in critical care medicine across the country paralleling the increasing success of the symposium,” says Brian P. Kavanagh, Chair of the Organizing Committee.  “This exciting launch acknowledges the great success of research and practice in critical care medicine throughout Canada; our annual conference is identified as where intensivists discuss how to put science into practice.”

“The forum sets out to equip every health care practitioner in Canada to provide the right care to critically ill patients anytime, anywhere,” said Dr. Arthur Slutsky, Director of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Brand strategy and naming was provided by Chemistry, and visual identity design by Shikatani Creative.
